Challenge 17:: Pokemon World Tournament

Alright final 16. You know whenever it's the merge and there's a sum of players left that is perfect for a single elimination tournament (which means 2 raised to the power of 2 or any higher integer, which is nerd talk for 4, 8, 16...) and it's always tempting for me to make a challenge revolved around those mechanics, and this is no exception. We're gonna have a Pokemon World Tournament. So this is how it's going to work. First I'm gonna have you guys list your top 16 favorite gym leaders from this list. Then I will tell you what gym leader you were assigned for this challenge. Whoever you are assigned, you will have that Gym Leaders' Pokemon World Tournament team for the World Leaders Tournament for this challenge. I will keep the identity of who got what gym leaders a secret until the challenge results. So every round I'll match you up randomly and I will simulate every battle. Round 1 is Single Battles (3 vs 3), Round 2 is Rotation Battles (4 vs 4), Semifinals is Double Battles (4 vs. 4), and the final is a Triple Battle (6 vs 6). After I simulate each battle, I'll inform people if they won and continue in the challenge or if they lost and they're out of the challenge. My advice to you in this challenge
-Send me your list of 16 gym leaders ranked 1 to 16 ASAP. The faster you are, the more likely you will get one of your top choices. To help you out, whenever a gym leader is deemed unavailable, I'll announce it to the entire cast (that way I don't inadvertently hint at who picked what gym leader).
-Before each battle, YOU get to pick which Pokemon you use out of your Gym Leader's team. You'll need to send your choices in this format (examples are for Ash's very first team of 6)
Single Battle: 1.Pikachu 2.Butterfree 3.Pidgeotto (Pikachu is sent out first)
Rotation Battle: 1.Bulbasaur 2.Squirtle 3.Charmander (Bulbasaur in the front, Squirtle to its left, Charmander to its right on the rotating gear)
Double Battle: 1.Pikachu 2.Bulbasaur 3.Pidgeotto 4.Squirtle (Pikachu and Bulbasaur are sent out first)
Triple Battle: 1.Butterfree 2.Pikachu 3.Charmander 4.Squirtle 5.Pidgeotto 6.Bulbasaur (Butterfree, Pikachu, and Charmander are sent out first; Pikachu in the middle, Butterfree to its left, Charmander to its right)
Make your choices wisely. I will let you know the identity of the Gym Leader you are battling so you can make an educated guess as to what you can expect
-Keeping your identity a secret is up to you I won't reveal identities officially until the challenge results.

The two players who make it to the final round wins immunity. However, the winner of the final battle wins an advantage in the next immunity challenge for him/herself and one other player of his/her choice.

Alright so you know who you're up against. Don't panic if you have a type disadvantage. If you play your cards right, you can still come out with a win. Now that you know who your first opponent is, use your teams and choose the 3 Pokemon you want to use. List them 1, 2, and 3. Gym Leaders rarely switch their Pokemon aside from forced effects like U-Turn or Roar. I'll post the simulations once all 8 battles are completed. I'd like to have this round done by Saturday the latest. The sooner you send me your lineups, the faster I can get this round finished. I'll send a few reminders if necessary but after a certain time if I don't get your response, you forfeit the challenge. Alright so get going!

Roxie vs. Clay. Clay took too long to pick his team so Roxie wins by default. Sorry Clay but I have to keep the challenge moving.

This round is Rotation Battles. So choose 4 of your 6 Pokemon to compete, listed #1, #2, #3, and #4. 1 is the Pokemon that starts in battle position on the gear. 2 is the Pokemon to the left of #1. 3 is the Pokemon to the right. And 4 is the backup that replaces the first Pokemon on your team once it is knocked out. Luck will be a big factor (luck is a part of Pokemon; the sooner you accept that, the better) but in a good number of first round matches, team selection had a big hand in deciding who won those battles. Choose 4 of your 6 Pokemon to compete, listed #1, #2, #3, and #4. The first two Pokemon you list will be the first two sent out. #3 will most likely be your first substitution after a Pokemon faints unless it's a very unwise choice. #3 and #4 are your backups. Keep in mind that certain attacks target both your opponents and maybe even your partner Pokemon as well. But I'm assuming you guys all know your Double Battle basic strategy guidelines. They've been around for like a decade. With only 2 battles, I'd love to announce the immunity winners tomorrow. The voting will probably start while the final battle takes place to save time. Both those battles ended up being pretty fun but in the end, Joltik-ShinyStoutland and Vanilluxe-DoubleJEpesjwan6 win immunity. I need you both to send me your Triple Battle lineups. I'll simulate that battle and that will determine who wins the challenge advantage for yourself and one other person of your choice. The winner of that prize will be announced at elimination 17

But as for right now, the 16 of you need to vote two players off! Please explain your votes and send confessionals! The players that get voted off will be jurors number 3 and 4. Due to luck of the tiebreakers, this is an odd numbered elimination so if there is a tie, we will go to a revote. Everyone besides Joltik and Vanilluxe is fair game. Elimination 17 will be up probably by Friday since I will be busy Wednesday and Thursday, but if I get a chance to put it up by Thursday, I'll do it. If you have any questions, let me know!
